So I recently found a new scrapbooking challenge site.  It was exactly what I needed to get me back into scrapping since Paolina was born.  It seems like I've been so sleep deprived the last 5 months that I had lost my creative mojo...and whenever I did feel in the mood to scrap, there was of course no time or opportunity.  Paolina is sleeping through the night now, and Santiago is in preschool three mornings a week, so once I've finished my chores around the house I can usually find some time to scrap these days. But it's still a small window of time to be able to work...so that's what I love about challenges and sketches...they can take the guess work out of where to get started and can really get my creative juices flowing!  Some of these challenges already ended but I thought I would post my projects anyhow.  You can join the fun too at Colorful Creations.

This challenge was to use the word "son" somewhere in the title.  I used pics from Noé's birthday last year, when we spent the day at the park.  He took Santiago out onto the tennis court to hit balls around, and it was just so cute to see Santiago (who had only been walking for about 6 weeks) toddling around after them:

This layout was for their "No Challenge" Challenge.  The idea was that sometimes we have already entered all of that month's challenges but have a layout we have completed and would love to share it and enter it in something.  So I submitted a layout I had made about the sweater my mom had handknit for Santiago.  He was such an enormous baby that she didn't anticipate that when he was 9 months old he would have to be squeezed into a size 9-12 month sweater. We were really only able to take pictures of him wearing it this one time. Fortunately, Paolina, who is also a big baby, has already gotten some use out of it...and she's only 5 months old!

This was for their weekly Random Wednesday Challenge...this particular week there was a list of "dances" that we could each choose.  Each "dance" had a set of requirements that had to be fulfilled in your layout.  I chose "The Butterfly" and my requirements were to have at least 3 butterflies, in the form of embellishments or patterned paper somewhere on the layout.  I used a pic from Paolina's newborn photo shoot and some patterned paper from Webster's Pages that I have been hoarding and waiting for just the right project to use it with.

Colorful Creations also has a weekly challenge called the Tackle Me Tuesday Sketch Challenge.  I used their sketch to create the following layout which used some fun, fun pics from several years ago when Noé and I went to his company's annual party.  The party used to have themes, and that year it was the 70's.  Don't you just love his big afro wig?!

The following week, I used another sketch from their Tackle Me Tuesday Sketch Challenge.  This time I used a pic of Paolina when she was 3 weeks old.  We had taken her to her first pede visit that morning, and she had fallen fast asleep in the carseat on the ride home...a very rare occurence in her first two months of life, as she used to scream bloody murder the entire car ride unless we used one of those special carseat swaddling blankets for her.  So this is an especially sweet photo.

Another challenge currently running at Colorful Creations is the Scraps of Life Gorgeous Layers Challenge, which was to use the following  posted photo for inspiration.  The colors in the photo were absolutely perfect for the pic I chose, another of Paolina from her newborn photo shoot.  I also entered the layout into the color challenge at The Color Room.  I used Palette #33 and Sketch #5.

This final layout was for this week's Random Wednesday Challenge, which was to use a monogram.  I once again used a pic of Paolina from her newborn photo shoot...and the most fun was using papers from my very favorite Basc Grey line Wisteria.

As if I haven't created enough the last two weeks, I'm really hoping to get a few cards and a few more layouts completed over this long weekend.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
