Let's Get Sketchy January Week 4

Happy happy Monday! I'm especially glad for today because I'm going to the dentist. Ok. I know that doesn't sound like something to be happy about, but not only am I one of those people who enjoy getting my teeth cleaned, but this particular visit is to have a broken filling repaired. It broke about a month ago, and for various reasons I wasn't able to get scheduled in until today. Anyone who has ever had a broken filling can probably attest to how annoying and painful it can be. Food gets lodged into what feels like a ginormous cavern in my mouth, thus causing extreme pain from the pressure and constant flossing. So this is a good day for me!

It's also a good day because there's a new sketch up at Let's Get Sketchy. So even if you don't get excited about dentist visits, you can have some fun in that! Here is this week's sketch...

And my take on it...
I love this picture of Santiago at his newborn photo shoot. It was getting close to his naptime and he was pretty much done with all the photo-taking. Incidentally, we also got some really sweet shots of him when he did fall asleep.

For this page I used all older product...My Mind's Eye So Sophie, Laundry Line and Lost & Found Two.

Thanks for looking...hope you take the time to check out what the rest of Team B did with the sketch, and I also hope you decide to join in!

Buttons and Badges

Losing power at our house yesterday was inconvenient, but really couldn't have happened on a better day. Both kids had school and I had plans to go have lunch with my parents to celebrate my mom's birthday. And before it went out I had fed both of the kids breakfast and Santiago had already left for school. My parents were super gracious and let me get to their house early so that I could do my hair & make-up and wash some laundry that could NOT wait until we had power again. So it really did work out quite nicely.

I also got to show off to my mom (who is also a scrapbooker and cardmaker) some scrappy goodies that I received as a prize when I gave her the birthday card I had made for her...
Check out the adorable cupcake flair! Last November my fellow Let's Get Sketchy design team member Sheila had a giveaway on her blog which was a prize from an etsy shop called Buttons and Badges. You really must go check it out...they carry some seriously cute flair. Anyhow I was the winner and my prize arrived this past Saturday. I didn't waste any time with using it and that very day made this card for my mom. I can't wait to use some of the rest of my prize on a layout!

Sketchabilities

One more post for this lovely Monday. I finished up a layout using a sketch from Sketchabilities several days ago, but as usual I procrastinated photographing it until the final day to link it up. Horrible move on my part as our house was without  power from 7am this morning until late this afternoon. So I'm totally getting this one in just under the wire.

Here's the awesome sketch I used...

And this is my take on it...
I love this picture of Santiago in his cute little hat. I think that was the only time we ever got him to wear it, and really any hat for that matter.

Ok so maybe it's just because I have a silly sense of humor but I got a little giggle out of the product I used...two separate manufacturers (My Mind's Eye and American Crafts Amy Tangerine) but lines both called Cut & Paste. I also used some older Basic Grey June Bug.

Thanks for looking and have a great night!

Let's Get Sketchy January Week 2

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm glad to be back into a normal routine after the long Christmas break. I'm also more than thrilled that after experiencing some seriously cold weather last week, it's back up into the 60s. Now THIS is my kind of winter!

I'm also excited about another great sketch at Let's Get Sketchy. I don't know about you but I know excatly what days each of my favorite challenge blogs post new sketches & challenges, and I really look forward to those days. One of my favorite things about Let's Get Sketchy is that new sketches are posted every week with the entire month to link up! So without further ado...week two's sketch:

And my take on it:
This is very out of character for me, but the product on this layout is almost 100% the same manufacturer AND line. Outside of a smidgen of unknown scraps & buttons, this page has all been done with Bo Bunny Mamarazzi 2.

As usual the rest of Design Team B has some wonderful takes on the sketch to share with you, so please head over to the Let's Get Sketchy blog for more inspiration!
